With the new ASHRAE year upon us, we look forward to another
year of membership and leadership growth. Last year our
membership grew by a whopping 10% (2nd largest increase in our
region). We hope to capitalize on that growth by welcoming
anyone with any interest in governing our local chapter to contact
me or any of the BOG members about attending a Board meeting.
We meet once a month on the fourth Tuesday of every month.
This month’s will be October 25th. Don’t be shy, this is (in my
opinion) the best way to get to know the ins and outs of our local
construction market as it relates to HVAC.

I think our blockbuster attendance numbers at our September 30th
annual golf tournament bode well for a successful year. We had a
whopping 120 attendees and had to turn people away due to a
lack of capacity at the golf course. That is unheard of in recent
history (as far back as I’m aware of). THANK YOU to our sponsors
of the tournament and everyone who showed up and brought
guests.

Don’t forget to sign up for our upcoming chapter meeting on
October 19th, the topic is an interesting one: Innovations in
Kitchen Exhaust Hoods, presented by Troy Kahle from
CaptiveAire. It will be held at our usual venue, Larkspur.

Finally, THANK YOU to everyone who donated to our Research
Promotion campaign last year. The Wichita Chapter consistently
ranks among the highest ‘per capita’ research donations in the
entire society.
