The ASHRAE-Wichita Chapter was officially chartered in 1951. The original charter is framed and hanging in the office of John Knipp, Owner of Knipp Equipment/Kansas Trane and former two-term Chapter President in 1993-94 & 1994-95. In the 62 years since the Chapter’s inception there have been 64 presidents to date with only three 2 term Presidents including Herb Speyer, Mike Dove and John Knipp. There is not a good record of early chapter history.
