The ASHRAE-Wichita Chapter was officially chartered in 1951. The original charter is framed and hanging in the office of John Knipp, Owner of Knipp Equipment/Kansas Trane and former two-term Chapter President in 1993-94 & 1994-95. In the 62 years since the Chapter’s inception there have been 64 presidents to date with only three 2 term Presidents including Herb Speyer, Mike Dove and John Knipp. There is not a good record of early chapter history. Histories of Member Companies

It is important to recognize the history of our Chapter. To help do this we would like to encourage all of our member companies to compile a brief history of their business and send to us for posting here. They really only need to be a half page to a page and please include any information on your company’s involvement in ASHRAE past, present and future as well as any photos you might have. Also, include a quote or two on your President’s view of the future of the company and the industry as a whole.
